Accessibility Statement

QA Gold is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, regardless of ability or the technology they use. This statement explains what we have done, what we know is not yet right, and how to reach us if something gets in your way.

Site administrators: please review and edit this page. It is seeded with accurate defaults, but the contact details and the review date below need to reflect your organisation.

Standard we aim for

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. We are not yet fully conformant, and the known gaps are listed below.

Accessibility tools built into this site

Select Accessibility options at the bottom-left of any page to adjust how the site is presented. Your choices are remembered in your browser and applied on every page you visit. They include:

  • Content — text size, line spacing, letter spacing, a more readable typeface, highlighted headings and links, and text alignment.
  • Colour — dark, light and high-contrast modes, plus muted, more vivid and monochrome colour.
  • Orientation — hide images, stop animations, highlight what you hover over or focus with the keyboard, and a larger cursor.

Nothing you change here is sent to us or shared, and you can undo everything at once with Reset all settings.

Keyboard and screen readers

Every page begins with a Skip to main content link, and the page's main region is marked up so assistive technology can jump straight to it. The accessibility panel itself is fully operable by keyboard: open it, move through it with Tab and the arrow keys, and close it with Escape.

What we know is not yet fixed

We would rather tell you the limits than have you discover them:

  • The presentation tools above change how the site looks. They cannot add missing image descriptions, form labels or element roles to the underlying page — that work has to happen in the pages themselves, and it is ongoing.
  • Some interactive components — certain dropdowns, carousels and pop-up dialogs — do not yet manage keyboard focus correctly.
  • Video and audio embedded from other services (for example YouTube or Vimeo) is outside our control, and captions depend on whoever published it.
  • Documents attached to programs, such as PDFs, may not be tagged for screen readers.
  • Content submitted by partner organisations may not always include image descriptions.
